Following consultation with members via an on-line survey and at the 2016 EuroSLA AGM in Jyväskylä, Finland, we are very pleased to announce that the first issue of the Yearbook’s successor, the Journal of the European Second Language Association (JESLA), is scheduled for summer 2017.
Submissions are invited from among the plenary, paper, PhD paper and poster presenters at the EuroSLA 26 conference in Jyväskylä and at the EuroSLA 25 conference in Aix-en-Provence for consideration for inclusion in this first issue. JESLA will be published by White Rose University Press, and hosted, on a fully open-access platform, by Ubiquity Press. There are no charges involved for either authors or readers.
Papers should be between 7,000 and 8,000 words in length (including citations and referencing), and should represent the best presentation of the research discussed at the conference(s). Similar to the Yearbook, all papers are peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers and the turnaround for publication remains very quick (August 2017).
The deadline for submission is Friday 6th January 2017. Details of how to upload your submission electronically will be distributed in due course. In the meantime, Authors’ Guidelines for preparing your submission are available here. You can also contact the journal editor with any queries regarding the guidelines.
We look forward to receiving your papers and making the new journal a great success!
