Dear EuroSLA Community,
Following on from our last successful webinar for Early Career Researchers in February, we are now looking forward to our next one, including information on how to get your work published. Feel free to share widely.
The webinar will be on May 26th, 2023 at 12 noon UK time – click on this time link to convert to your local time.
This will be a chance for ECRs (which includes, of course, post-grad students) to catch up again, and extend their connections with other SLA researchers at a similar stage, as well as having the chance for some social time before our full conference in Birmingham in August – we hope to see many of you there!
In this Webinar, we are particularly glad to include useful briefings from Dr Sarah Liszka, Editor of EuroSLA’s Open Access Journal of the European Second Language Association (JESLA), and from Prof Amanda Edmonds, Series Editor of the EuroSLA Studies book series. They will discuss how to get published in academic journals such as our very own membership-focused outputs, JESLA and EuroSLA Studies, and other research formats.
Published authors both earlier and later in their careers will join the session to share their tips (and some bloopers to avoid!) – final details will be confirmed nearer the time.
We are hoping to make this as accessible as possible for our ECRs by keeping it online, free, and at a timeslot that hopefully works for as many as possible. We encourage any member who considers themselves to be an ECR to attend.
We also invite more experienced researchers to share this call with early career SLA researchers who may not already be connected to our EuroSLA family, to welcome them in!
While the session will be relevant to publishing in many formats, if you’ve been accepted at the doctoral workshop in Birmingham, you are strongly encouraged to turn your talk into a paper for JESLA – Sarah can give you tips on how best to do so.

We hope this will be another useful e-way of keeping EuroSLA members well connected, so we look forward to seeing everyone soon – ECRs at this webinar, and everyone together in Birmingham in August.
Best wishes!
